- How do I make my hair grow faster?
- How often should you wash your hair?
- How do I curl my hair with a straightener?
- How to cut your own hair?
- How to remove hair dye from skin?
I don’t know about you but I have always wanted my hair to grow more and faster. I would google and YouTube what other people have done to grow their hair quickly. What I learned quickly was that there is no quick fixes in hair, health, or life in general. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. (Commission is received in links provided in this post)
Hair growth
Scalp Care:
- Regularly massage your scalp to stimulate blood flow and encourage hair follicles to grow.
- Keep your scalp clean and healthy by using gentle shampoos and avoiding product buildup.
Healthy Diet:
- Eat foods rich in protein (like eggs, fish, and nuts) since hair is primarily made of keratin, a type of protein.
- Include iron, zinc, and vitamins (like biotin and vitamin D) in your diet to support hair health.
Hydration:
- Drink plenty of water to keep your hair hydrated and prevent dryness or breakage.
Avoid Heat Damage:
- Minimize the use of heat styling tools like straighteners and curling irons, or always use a heat protectant. Even blow drying creates breakage if your setting is too hot. Here is one of my favorite heat protectants! A quick tip for testing a heat protectant is spraying it on a receipt paper and ironing over it. If the page turns black, you should reconsider your options.
Trim Regularly:
- Trim split ends every 4-6 weeks to prevent breakage and keep your hair healthy.
Use Hair Growth Products:
- Consider products with ingredients like castor oil, rosemary oil, or keratin, which are known to support hair growth.
Protect Your Hair:
- Avoid tight hairstyles like ponytails and braids that can cause too much tension and breakage.
- Use silk or satin pillowcases so you can reduce friction while you’re sleeping.
Be Stress-Free:
- High stress levels can lead to hair loss, so practice relaxation techniques like yoga or meditating.
HOW MUCH SHOULD YOU WASH YOUR HAIR
Hair Types:
- Oily Hair:
- Wash every 1-2 days to remove excess oil and maintain a nice look.
- Dry or Curly Hair:
- Wash 1-2 times a week to preserve natural oils that keep hair moisturized.
- Normal Hair:
- Wash every 2-3 days, depending on how it feels and looks.
Lifestyle Factors:
- Active Lifestyle: If you exercise frequently and sweat a lot, you may need to wash more often.
- Use of Styling Products: Washing more often helps remove product buildup.
Scalp Health:
- If you have a sensitive or dandruff-prone scalp, use a gentle shampoo designed for your condition, even if it means washing more frequently.
Over-washing can strip your scalp of natural oils, leading to dryness, while under-washing can cause buildup and irritation. Pay attention to how your hair feels to find the perfect balance for you! Would you like tips for choosing the right shampoo for your hair type?
HOW TO CURL HAIR WITH A STRAIGHTENER
Here’s a helpful video tutorial on how to curl your hair with a straightener: HOW TO Curl Hair with a STRAIGHTENER (For BEGINNERS). It provides a step-by-step guide, including sectioning your hair, twisting it through the straightener, and achieving natural-looking curls. Perfect for beginners! Let me know if you’d like more tips or details.
HOW TO DIY CUT YOUR OWN HAIR
There are plenty of videos to show you to do this. I won’t have videos to show this because even as a hairdresser I don’t cut my own hair. It can be done but I would rather have someone do it for me than to take the risk of cutting a chunk in my hair. Just go to a stylist if you can. Thats my main advice for that. We are trained and there is more to cutting hair than it seems.
